Smith Kristin has a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Her performance experience includes over thirty musical productions and operas, and is currently a solo artist in Nashville. She is both classically and commercially trained. Her diverse singing abilities enabled her to study various styles of music including: opera, country, jazz, R&B, southern rock, pop, pop/rock, swing, gospel and art song. Kristin is the Director of the Smyrna Assembly Children's Choir in Smyrna, TN. A Michigan native, Kristin came to Nashville to pursue her music career and education. Soon after she arrived, Miss Smith began intense commercial music training with an artist development agency on Music Row. Kristin's voice can be heard on recordings for Mattel, Inc. products, local artists, commercials, and publishing companies. She has opened for country artists such as Chely Wright, and is currently writing and recording a pop/rock album. Kristin owns Lookit Music, a SESAC publishing company, and is a SESAC songwriter. Ms. Smith is available as an instructor for master classes and workshops on studio recording, artist development, stage presentation and as a competition judge. She will also work individually with artists in the studio through pre-production and during recording. Kristin firmly believes that every musical genre is worth exploring. Her goal for her students and artists is to help them learn healthy and correct technique while developing confidence and a personal style.
