Has studied with Broadway Instructor Georgette Reims and Pianists Edward Daniel and Jack Gary. A "Nashvillain" for almost a decade, Stephen Nix has vocal, piano and songwriting students who travel from as far as Oregon to study. He in the commercial performer with emphasis on pedagogical and technical principles of voice, piano and songwriting. Steve seeks to make the technicalities and excercises naturally applicable. Currently Steve writes, arranges, produces and coaches in Nashville. He has worked and helped direct many educational programs for children and adults, including teaching at L.S.U. for two years where he helped jump start their Music Academy. Awards: Sonata Competition, 1990. Tourgee-Debose International Piano Competition, 1990 and 91. John H. Chester Pianist of the Year, 1990. Dove nominated Songwriter. Additional: Believes every style must be addressed in order to have a well-balanced music education. Aim is to take a musician to a higher level of musicality and give students tools for successful application.
