Star Search Nashville & Trowbridge Symposium is the original artist and songwriter showcase and career workshop event hosted in Nashville annually. The location is TBA Nashville, Tennessee, in "the District" (Lower Broad) and close to Music Row. Visit General Jackson Showboat, BB King's, Tootsie's, The Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame, The Hard Rock Cafe, Grand Ole Opry, and other Riverfront and Nashville attractions.
If you like, attend Nashville School of Music for a week of intensive practical study in image, stage performance; commercial voice; recording studio; vocal technique; piano/guitar; songwriting; and Music Business topics. NSM dates are in July, directly preceeding SSNI, and in Nashville.
Prizes include Best Song - WINS A PUBLISHING CONTRACT, Best Emerging Writer - WINS A RECORDING SESSION and trophy, Trowbridge Youth Achievement Award - WIN A RECORDING SESSION and trophy and cash awards; and awards for every category (genre) in Dance, Artist, Writer, and Band. Prizes include trophies and awards, Nashville recording sessions, a publishing contract and music video, and career resources and goodies. Cash prizes and sponsor gifts are routinely included.*
Anyone may attend under General admission to workshops, showcases, and exhibits. ALL TICKET SALES ARE BY VISA/MC and CHECK/MONEY ORDER ONLY. Pre-order by mail, by phone, and online. AT THE EVENT, TICKET SALES ARE GENERAL ADMISSION ONLY, BY VISA/MC. (No cash or checks at event Registration.) Free refreshments are served throughout the event.
Workshops include songwriting by Nashville hit writers, vocal coaching, and music career topics. Some workshops are Recording Topics; Press Kits; Vocal Coaching; Career Counseling, the "Nashville Number System" and more. Music business seminars and symposia include topics like "How To Succeed In This Business of Music", "Songwriting Ahead Of The Curve" with a hit songwriter, and more.
ALL SONG STYLES AND GENRES AND ALL AGES "7 - 77" ARE REPRESENTED. One of Nashville's best kept 'open secrets' is its long standing huge presence in rock/pop, blues, and gospel music. Enjoy personal "meet and greet" with inner loop figures. Executive judges vary from year to year and are promoters, publishers, record label executives, talent scouts, and talent developers. Hit writers Don King, Jerry Vandiver, Jason Blume, Jerry Cupit, and Terry Brown are among previous years' workshop leaders. Others, in talent coaching and voice, are Ron Browning, Stephen Nix, Melissa Ellen, and Steve Morris.

TALENT SHOWCASES DISPLAY DANCERS, ARTISTS, SINGERS, SONGWRITERS, BANDS, AND PERFORMANCE TALENT. Previously*, the #1 Best of Show wins a BET/CMT-style music video and the #1 Best Song trophy wins a publishing contract. Although there are no guarantees, judges are searching talent and attendees are may be signed to contracts. See who was signed 2007 Winners and 2005 Winners after attending and showcasing at SSNI *.
